Hi
After making enquiries I discovered it wasn't possible to email Birmingham schools with a bulk email. I have today sent emails to all the Birmingham schools on the site that had email, 97 in total. Some of the schools have over 1000 pupils so providing the schools display the poster it should reach a vast amount of people across the city.
I am going to email as many vets as I can find email addresses for also Animal Sancturies/Rescue Centres etc.
I just hope it helps George find his way home.

Hi
I have emailed Caroline to ask for a standard email to send to vets, animal sancturies and rescues etc.
The one I had for schools isn't appropriate and rather than amend it I think it would be better coming from Caroline in her own words. Also I think we should all be sending the same information.

Hi
I have received an email from Caroline containing a standard letter to send to vets. I've passed it on to Rhoni as it can be used by anyone who is emailing vets.It has a lot of information in about George so will be very useful.

Hi Rhoni
Yes I'll cover Birmingham as far as I am able to.It would be useful if other members could cover their areas too and make it nationwide.

Hi all you wonderful helpers. Been ill lately, but getting back on my feet again, so back to work! George is being included in Our Dogs magazine next month, the tv documentary about dog theft featuring George should be aired this month (Meridian area) and i'm working on contacting French websites and scanning companies.
Just a thought, I had a car boot stall recently and plastered the stall with posters of George and other Lost Dogs, this got a HUGE amount of interest, (tho' I didn't sell a lot unfortunately!), and I also got loads of signatures for the Dog Theft petition (you can print this petition off from www.dogtheftaction.co.uk). If anyone else is having a boot sale in their area, would they mind doing the same? Most people I talked to were totally unaware of just how bad the problem was, and a lot of them had their dogs with them, so it'll spread the word even if it doesn't help to find my boy.
Must go, Megan is eating my house!!
Thanks for all your help and support,
Caroline xxx

Hi Caroline,
Thanks for the update and what great news about the mag and TV.....
What a brilliant idea to put posters up at the boot sale....I agree most people think a dog is a dog, you walk it, it poo's and that's the extend of their knowledge. They have no idea about all the thefts etc.
I always watch their faces change and their jaw drop when I tell them that 5710 pets go missing every week in the UK !
Keep us up to speed on George, your efforts and if you need anything doing just let us know.
Oh btw can you tell your dad that Cornwall and Devon schools are being completed while I tpye this and am going to try and get some more help to tackle the rest
Take care

Hi Caroline & Rhoni,
Caroline - thanks for the update on George, i'm sorry to hear you haven't been well lately, hope you are feeling much better now.
Brilliant news about 'Our Dogs' magazine, will that be the August issue then? I know sometimes they release their issues a month in advance.
I will look out for the documentary too - all this must help your boy, also i like the car boot sale idea & the petition.
I'm going to contact some of the larger French vets today, and send them all a joint email about George, along with his photo. Once emailed, i'll let you know who i have contacted so as not to duplicate.
All the best for now Caroline, you, Rhoni & everyone are doing a great job.

HI All,
URGENT REQUEST FOR HELP IN KENILWORTH, WARWICKSHIRE AREA
Just receieved this email from a friend:
"Just to let you know there is a horse fair and market in Kennilworth, Warwicks on Sunday 24th July starting at 7am. Its on A46 bypass Coventry/Warwick just off Thick Thorn Island. There is a huge yellow banner advertising it. Travellers have already arrived and apparently there are many dogs in crates".
I can't go as I am working, if anyone can go and look for George and ANY suspicious looking dog please please go, but be aware - it is quite sickening the way these scum treat their animals, be prepared to be upset.

I've left a message for Jayne and also posted on Dogpages - the more people we can get up there the better, most of these dogs will be in a very sorry state, whether stolen or not, and these scum should not be allowed to make money out of their sufferring - unfortunately many kind hearted people will buy these dogs from the travellers just to get them away from them - but this only encourages them to do it more!
