Hello everyone,

Below is a useful piece of info for all owners of lost dogs in Cornwall, or anyway even.

Pets may have been stolen and ' dumped ' strayed or run away, so would always be worth a look at the website.

" Using net to trace stray dogs "

This dog, found at Burlawn, is one of a number on the site
Dog owners in north Cornwall will now be able to use the internet to search for their missing pets.
Lost dogs will have their pictures taken when they are taken to the kennels.

The images will then be displayed on the North Cornwall District Council (NCDC) website, where owners will be able to search for their missing dog.

The council hopes the new page will become the first port of call for any worried dog owner.

'Valuable addition'

Dick Downing, the NCDC dog warden, places more than 100 dogs a year in the kennels, most of whom are eventually reunited with their owners.

"I feel this is a very valuable addition to the council's website," he said.

"Enabling the public to see photos of all the dogs currently placed in kennels will hopefully speed up the process of dog owners collecting their dog, and also reduce kennelling costs and worry for the owners."
