Jack is a one year old chocolate labrador who has been missing since the 6th June '05. He escaped from our garden in Largs, Scotland and despite a couple of sightings in town has still not been recovered.
Unfortunately he has not been chipped, but he does have a collar with contact details.
He is on the big, muscular side and fairly distinctive. Greatly missed.
All assistance appreciated - reward for his safe return.
(My photographs of Jack appear to be too big to be posted - for an image please look in www.doglost.co.uk)

Hi David,
Welcome to Lostlabs.
So sorry to hear about Jack, you have come to the right place though, we will do our best to help join the search for Jack.
What sort have things have you done already?
Have you tried all rescue centres within your area?
We have a slight technical problem with the photo gallery at the moment, which is why you couldn't upload the photos of Jack, this is being worked on as i speak so it will be up and running very soon ok.
Stay in touch ok, as we will with you.
Praying for a safe return of Jack.
All the best for now,
Julie
P.S I've found Jack's photo on 'dogslost' so have added it here until the photo gallery is up and running.

Welcome David,
So pleased you joined us.
Thank you for your email and as Julie has said you should soon be able to add Jack's photos.
We will do all we can to help you in your search for Jack, but a good start as Julie has said, is local rescues, pounds and ring the local dog warden as they have a wide net of contacts also.
The lost and found data base is now up and running and can be found on the left, here you can log Jacks details as well as the post you have already done.
Hoping for a speedy return of your boy

Hi David,
All fingers crossed here.
Have you alerted all sevices, wardens, police, rescues in the area?
Also get onto local radio tell them it's urgent and they might give Jack a few seconds of air time.
I have put appeal out on LF for any members who might be local or know anyone in those areas, and an LF member has replied with email addresses of Lab clubs in the area and a crufts rep too.
I have already contacted them on your behalf.
Now is the time to act with every resource available, don't be afraid of making calls and bugging people...raise their awareness and urgency of the sighting.
If out searching have pocket full of treats, as he might be a bit confussed.......food always helps
Bet you won't read this yet as you are probably out searching but please keep us informed....and fingers crossed he is home soon

Just an update on Jack.
David, his owner, contacted me today to say that although he has not been reunited with Jack yet he has been successful in getting his plight into 2 local papers and First Scottish National.
Posters and emails are in circulation and Velvetine has kindly offered assistance, along with help already in place by members, we hope to close the net on the young man.

Hi David,
Just to let you know at least two members are searching Gridle Toll, one has even taken her girl who is in season, working on the theory that she may well be more appealing than a sausage !
I don't know if you have met up yet but I know she could broaden the search if she had posters.
Any mileage in getting the alert to neighbouring villages before Jack gets there? Then maybe we can be one step ahead of him
