Not quite sure where to place this, so have entered it here.

I help with co-ordinator for Labrador Club of Scotland, rescueing and re-homing. This also applies to found dogs. We do not have facilites such as a rescue centre as such but most Labs are re-homed from the original owners. However, Rescues and lost dogs occasionally need to be taken into care, and this is where I come in. My house is classed as a 'safe house', any Lab that requires immediate rescue, or a found Lab, comes to me for care until the owner and dog can be re-united. I would be more than happy to extend this to lostlabs if needed.

Not sure what other things I can volunteer for, but if you need any help just shout, only too happy to help if I can

Kayc,

Thanks so much for posting ..........

Without any doubt the work you already do to help these Labs is amazing and Lost Labs is so pleased you are here.

Maybe some of the Labs that come to you are from out of your area so we would always be grateful if you could post their details on our ' Lost and Found ' database.
Equally, Should there be any way Lost Labs can help you then just ask, we are also more than happy to cross link.

As for your extended offer of help....well we will always need volunteers to search our links ( and others on the net until we are 100% functional and have included all links ) for any lost or stolen Labs / dogs recorded here.

No matter how short a search...it just might be the one that re-unites.
All we ask is that you leave a note on the thread to say where you have searched so it is not replacated by the next volunteer.

Also, today was a perfect example. The sighting of Jack.
And we thank you for the help you gave. But should this become a regular occurence then it is nice to know there are those, like you, we may to call upon to help.
Even if just to make a couple of calls or emails, as you did today.

What must not be forgotten is George.
There is still so much to do, the emailing of schools ( liase with Donrosa ) the media ( liase with Sam -Cozwaz ) and every Lab club, warden, Lab friends, colleagues, vet, pet shops, infact anyone who can help spread the word.

We need to create such a unique and complete database of all resources that whenever a dog is lost or stolen we have the ability to have all info available to enable immediate action.
Phew ! Bet you wished you never asked Wink

Thank you again Kay, please feel free to PM either myself Rhoni ( mommy ) or Sam ( Cozwaz ) at any time.

Best wishes
