Salutations to you all.

The theft of George was a despicable act. The torment suffered by his owner, Caroline, is beyond comprehension.
George is a beautiful black Labrador aged 4 years and details of his theft are in the link below.

http://www.labradorforums.co.uk/ftopict-17.html#36141

Despite the enormous and exhaustive efforts of Caroline, George has still not been found.
Caroline's listed searches can be found in the link below http://www.labradorforums.co.uk/ftopict-1982.html#37211

The time has now come to take the gloves off and along the way hopefully raise awareness of the magnitude of these crimes.

Being mere mortals, a few can not do this alone, so we are putting out a plea to members who are available to help in whatever way they can, even the shortest email or poster at a vet could find George.

This is very much in it's infancy, a two fold plan is likely to be the most effective.

Mainly we want to hit the media if we can with an big email shot - which isn't as easy as it seem, even though we all feel for George and want to find him, sadly, George might not be news breaking to editors, for the 100's of emails we would like to send out only a small percentage might actually come to fruition but its worth a try for George's sake and we want to give it a go.

To do this a database needs to be put together which can be very time consuming and what we are asking for is volunteers to spend half an hour or so of their time (or more if they wish!!!) searching out certain email addresses off the internet. I have media publications at home so have the information for newspapers, radio etc even though for some of them I will have to search out the email addresses.

Other groups we would like to hit are TV programmes ie animal related programmes, chat shows, even children's programmes like Newsround etc etc. I would even like to try (as Caroline already mentioned on a previous thread) and get in touch with some Labrador owing celebrities but that is not an easy task. The list is endless. But the longer the list. being positive, the greater the chance.

With the database in place, to blanket cover with emails is the easiest way to saturate everyone, everywhere.

Sam is going to put a plan together, over the next few days, breaking it down into sections and then hopefully delegate a section to a member to search out the information required and then email it back to us.

If any of you have any other ideas we would be grateful to hear them. Also if anyone has ' a foot in the door ' with any outlet that could assist in the coverage of George's plight we would love to hear from you.

Secondly, to utilize any participating members to ' sweep ' their vets, rescue centers, pet shops, training schools, travelers grounds, and all possible considerations. A poster of George is available to print off and place in relevant establishments.

We are looking for geographical help..to try and cover as much of the country as possible. By doing this, there clearly will be some establishments that will be contacted by email and your poster etc....but best to have two than one slipping through a local net and getting none !

If anyone would like to help with this research perhaps you could let us know by either sending us a PM replying to this post.

Many thanks everyone

Rhoni and Sam

George
