LABRADOR RESCUE
DEDICATED TO THE WELFARE OF LABRADORS
What is the Labrador Lifeline Trust ?
The Labrador Lifeline Trust is a Registered Charity with an operating area of Hampshire, Surrey, Berkshire, Lincolnshire and part Nottinghamshire, Norfolk and Suffolk. Our helpers are all unpaid volunteers and all money raised is used in the rehoming and welfare of our dogs.
All dogs coming into the Trust are carefully vetted by our experienced helpers, as are the homes that wish to adopt them.
We keep in contact with the dog for the remainder of its life and previous owners may contact us for information at any time. We observe strict confidentiality at all times and do not put donors in touch with recipients.
We do not supply dogs for working purposes, as the majority are already family pets and would not adapt to living outside.
The main reasons for Labradors needing to be rehomed are domestic crisis, divorce, finance, and bereavement. Fortunately very few are as a result of cruelty.
The Trust deals with over 300 cases per year and will take dogs irrespective of age or infirmity.
There is no such thing as the perfect Labrador and the majority are in need of some training and we strongly advise attending local training classes. Your veterinary surgeon should be able to recommend a suitable club. Many training clubs have special classes purely for rescue dogs.
We strongly advise that when thinking of taking on a dog you take out pet insurance as illness and injury can be very expensive. Lifetime policies are the best as they cover the dog for life and not just until it reaches 8 years of age.
We try not keep our dogs in kennels and normally they are rehomed directly from one home to another. We match the right dog to the right home. At all times the dog's welfare is our main priority.
Please see DOGS NEEDING HOMES for further details.
If you are looking for a Labrador or if you have a Labrador that needs a new home, for whatever reason, please contact your nearest Area Coordinator or our office.
Our helpers are all sympathetic and will do their utmost to help you.
WE KNOW AND UNDERSTAND THE LABRADOR
Labrador Retriever Rescue covering Surrey, Berkshire, Hampshire, Part Oxfordshire, Part Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire, Part E & West Sussex.Norfolk and Suffolk. We are never too far away to help a Labrador.
